korea 2008

19 Apr 2011

i’ve been missing korea lately.  it’s probably due to not being able to see and play with my little nephews.  darn it sam, why do you have to live so far away?  i’m not a big landscape, cityscape kinda gal, but i like this image because you see tiny people walking in the empty park before they enter the jungle of buildings and lights.  i like the juxtaposition of empty square against busy, sleepless city block.

speaking of contrast, here is another one i like.  we were told that there was this microbrewery owned by a german guy.  if you know my husband well, you know he loves microbrews.  we were also told that it was family friendly, and that they had great food, and awesome entertainment.  at this point, i’m imagining a pub, much like grain and gristle in pdx.  much to my dismay, the place was nothing like what i envisioned.  it was huge like rainforest cafe at outlet malls, and the entertainment was not kid friendly at all.  there were half naked ladies dancing and singing on the stage while these tipsy businessmen gawked at them.  the kids were let loose to run around the restaurant freely, although most of them congregated by the stage.  needless to day, brent and i were both so uncomfortable that we didn’t get to enjoy the booze and food.  i gave this place a “D.”
