I have a confession to make. I have a fear of being around a group of kids. I sometimes see them collectively as this big cloud of destruction. Their arms are constantly flinging in the air, they shout and shriek when excited, they bounce around unpredictably like a pinball, and they all inevitably become sticky…but, all in a wonderful way. Kids play fearlessly, laugh unrestrained, find joy in the smallest things, and value friendship. I want to be sucked into their carefree world, except, of course, getting Bieber fever. I focused on these aspects of childhood while photographing Tatum’s pajamas-required birtday party. The girls’ sunniness, slightly heightened by sugar, sure was contagious. Thanks girls for reminding me how to have fun!
